Jason and Chris spent more than twenty years as fire captains and even longer as friends. They built their lives on brotherhood, resilience, and craft. Oakland Tobacco Company was lit from that same fire: premium, hand-selected blends for people who appreciate the finer moments in life.

Longtime friends and veteran firefighters, Jason and Christopher (also a veteran Marine) share a passion for servitude and a shared love of camaraderie, hard work, and a good cigar. That led them to spark a new venture — Oakland Tobacco Company.
Founded in Oakland, California — a city known for its strong sense of community and a rich, diverse history. OTC embodies those values, built on the same principles that guided them throughout their 20+ year careers in the Fire Service: brotherhood, resilience, and dedication to craft. Their cigar company aims to deliver on those principles — premium, hand-selected blends put together for those who appreciate the finer moments in life. When Jason and Christopher set out to create their brand they asked themselves one question:
What do we want people to take away from us besides selling a cigar?
The answer was that we value people, a sense of belonging, achievement in value, and a better day. That’s what we aim to do through our cigars.
